KENULE BEESON SARO-WIWA POLYTECHNIC P.M.B. 20 BORI (Office of the Registrar) (INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL ADVERTISEMENT) Sequel to the gracious approval for recruitment of staff for new programmes by His Excellency, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, GSSRS, POS (Africa), Governor of Rivers State and Visitor to Kenule Beeson Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic, Bori, Rivers State, applications are hereby requested from suitably qualified persons for appointment into the various teaching and non-teaching positions indicated below. A. TEACHING POSITIONS The Teaching positions required are: Lecturer II Lecturer III Senior Lecturer and Chief Lecturer for Department of Chemical/Petrochemical Engineering Technology. Higher Technologists for Schools of Applied Sciences, Engineering and Environmental Technology. The programmes for which these positions are required are the Departments of: Public Administration Chemical/Petrochemical Engineering Technology. Industrial Safety & Environmental Engineering Technology. Welding & Fabrication Engineering Technology. B. NON-TEACHING POSITIONS Administrative Officer II Higher Executive Officer Executive Officer Confidential Secretary II Messenger-Cleaner Labourer Auditor II Accountant II Medical Officer II Staff Nurse/Staff Midwife II Auxiliary Nurse Security Guard/Patrolman Hostel Attendants Higher Technical Officer II (Civil Electrical, Mechanical, Architecture & Quantity Survey) Driver Welder Tiler Plumber Carpenter Mason Electrician Aluminum Door/Window Fabricator Plant Operator Painter QUALIFICATIONS Applicants for the positions listed above must satisfy the following criteria: Lecturer II: Applicants must: Be holders of Masters Degree in the relevant field with teaching and research abilities. Have at least three (3) years working experience Be computer literate. * Ph.D is an advantage. Lecturer III Applicants must: Possess Bachelors degree with at least a Second Class Upper. Be computer literate. * Masters degree is an advantage. QUALIFICATIONS Administrative Officer II Applicants must: Possess a University degree preferably in Humanities or Social Sciences from a recognized University with at least a 2nd Class Honours (Lower) Division and must have completed the NYSC programme. Show proven ability for expression in both oral and written English. Be computer literate. * Note that Masters degree is an advantage. Higher Executive Officer Applicants must: Possess B.Sc/HND in relevant disciplines preferably in Humanities or Social Sciences from a recognized tertiary institution. Be computer literate. Executive Officer Applicants must: Possess NCE/ND in relevant disciplines preferably in Humanities or Social Sciences from a recognized tertiary institution. Be computer literate. Confidential Secretary II Applicants must: Possess a Bachelors degree or HND in Secretarial Studies including NYSC Discharge/Exemption certificate. Have two (2) years post qualification experience. Be computer literate. BURSARY Accountant II Applicants must: Possess a Bachelors degree in Accountancy from a recognized University not below 2nd Class (Lower) Division, including NYSC Discharge/Exemption certificate. Be computer literate. Membership of relevant professional body is an advantage. INTERNAL AUDIT Internal Auditor II Applicants must: Possess a Bachelors degree/HND in Accountancy. Have two (2) years post-qualification experience with NYSC Discharge/Exemption certificate Be computer literate. HEALTH SERVICES Medical Officer II Pharmacist Staff Nurse/Staff Midwife II Auxiliary Nurse Medical Officer II Applicants must: Possess a Bachelors degree in Medicine & Surgery. Registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria with NYSC Discharge/Exemption certificate. Be computer literate. Staff Nurse/Staff Midwife II Applicants must: Possess a minimum of five (5) Credits including English and Mathematics in WASC/NECO as well as NRN or NCN or their equivalent. Have duly registered with the Nursing and Midwife Council of Nigeria (NMCN). Be computer literate. Auxiliary Nurse Applicants must: Possess a minimum of five (5) Credits including English and Mathematics in WASC/NECO as well as training certificate in Auxiliary Nursing from a certified hospital. Be computer literate. Driver Applicants must: Possess relevant academic and professional certificates Have a functional Drivers license Be physically fit and visually sound Assistant Craftsman This includes: Welder, Tiller, Plumber, Carpenter, Mason, Electrician, Aluminum Door/Window Fabricator, Plant operator and Painter. Applicants must: Possess relevant academic and professional certificates Be physically fit and visually sound Higher Technical Officer Applicants must: Possess Bachelors degree or HND in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized tertiary Institution, including NYSC Discharge/Exemption certificates. Possess at least three (3) years working experience Be computer literate. Security Guard/Patrolman Applicants must: Possess the required professional skills Show evidence of previous service(s) done in the field. * All applicants must attach their First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) alongside other credentials. CONDITION OF SERVICE All successful applicants would be engaged and placed on probation for two (2) years continuous service on assumption of duties. Other conditions are similar to those obtainable in other Polytechnics in Nigeria. Persons who are above 50 years of age are not eligible to apply.
